For “early bird” rates, the payment should be processed by 17 July 2017. Should the payment arrive after that date, we will have to charge the full price.

Early Bird Rate

You may register for the ESMA Conference 2017 using the early bird offer until 17 July 2017.
Your registration will be cancelled if your payment is not received within one week (for EU payments) and two weeks (for non-EU payments), should you then decide that you still wish to attend you will have to pay the normal rate.
If your registration, using the early bird offer was cancelled due to your payment not being received on time, and you have reregistered using the normal rate then you will be subject to the cancellation and reimbursement rules for the normal rate.

Normal Rate

You may register for the conference using the normal rate until 19 July 2017.

Westin Grand Paris - Vendôme Hotel

The Westin Grand Paris – Vendôme Hotel is the official venue for the ESMA 2017 Conference.

The Westin Grand Paris – Vendôme is centrally located in Paris' first arrondissement, making it easy to reach with close-by opportunities for shopping, sightseeing and business visits. The hotel is a few streets the Concorde Place, the Louvre Museum, the Place Vendôme and the boutiques of rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.

The Westin Grand Paris - Vendôme is home to some of the city’s most splendid, historic meeting rooms, including three grand salons with exquisite Second Empire-style frescoes.

LOCAL USEFUL INFORMATION

Public transportation

The Parisian metro or RER trains run every day between 6 AM to 12:30 PM, wherever you might be along the line.
The majority of bus routes operate from 7 AM to 8:30 PM, some lines continuing until 12:30 PM.
Night-buses, the so-called Noctilien, operate from 12:30 PM to 05:30 AM.
Please be aware that the Parisian transport network has its rush hours: at the time when most residents of Paris and Ile-de-France set off for work, between 8 - 10 AM, and when they head home again, between 5 – 8 PM. Saturday is also a very busy day, as many Parisians use it for their shopping.

The t+ ticket: 1,90€ (single)
10 tickets: 14,50€

The T+ ticket allows you to travel on:

  • metro lines
  • RER lines (RATP and SNCF) within Paris (zone 1)
  • Ile-de-France bus lines (RATP and OPTILE), except for airport buses such as Orlybus and Roissybus
  • tramway lines during 90 minutes (RATP and SNCF)
  • the Montmartre funicular
Please note: it is not possible to make metro/bus, metro/tram, RER/bus and RER/tram connections using the same t+ ticket.
The Parisian network is divided into 5 zones and the t+ ticket only covered the 1st zone which is Paris without its suburbs (called “Paris intramuros”).

Parisian Taxis

You will find taxis anywhere in Paris, 24 hours a day. Generally, the average price is 1,20€ per kilometer or 35€ per hour.

Uber

A cheaper option may be Uber, which operates in France as other chauffer services, offering chauffer services through smartphone applications. In Paris you can just use your smartphone app to request a ride. When a nearby driver-partner accepts your request, your app displays an estimated time of arrival and price estimate. Prices are normally cheaper than regular taxis, however be aware of additional fees which may apply during Paris rushhours.

Currency & Bank

Paris’ official currency is the Euro (€). Even though you may find some banks who will accept your currency in exchange for euros, you are more likely to come across currency exchange which specialize in this type of transaction. Make sure you have some ID with you.

Your credit card will enable you to withdraw cash in Euros 24 hours a day at hundreds of ATMs throughout the city. Commission is usually charged on an exchange transaction.

There is a multitude of banks in Paris, both French and foreign. They are generally open from 9 AM to 5 PM, or 6 PM, from Monday to Friday, sometimes from Tuesday to Saturday. Certain branches may close at lunchtime, between 12:30 AM to 2 PM.

Contact your mobile phone operator who will confirm whether or not your mobile is compatible with the French network and also explain how you will be charged for calls received from your own country or that you make while abroad (local and international calls).
